I Guess Week 3- Week 4

Hello Everyone,

Sorry for not making an entry earlier. I have been working in the clinic a lot and researching a lot as well. i was able this past week to listen to Dr. Burns' presentation to the Camp PathOlogical students and other GCRC interns. it helped me with my poster for presentation which i just finished today. It is interesting because i've noticed that even though i've spent a lot of time in the clinic, no two patients are the same. A lot of them have the syptoms, however each has another peculiar complication that sets them apart from the rest. Last week i got to work in the GCRC research division and watch Colby administrate a physical fitness test for the A.D.E.P.T program that Dr. Anderson and Dr. Burns are researching. Well that's about it for now. Adios

2nd Week

Dear Readers,

I am entering my log entry today because it is the only fre time i've had all week, and i will not be here tomorrow. This week i was privelaged to shadow Nurse Practioner Anne. K Arthur. In the afternoons of Monday and Tuesday along with the morning of Wednesday i tagged along with NP Arthur in the clinic of the Landon Center. She met with many alheimers patients and gave them a physical evalutation and met with the families separate from the patient to get a further evaluations of the change in behavior that the patient is going through. This morning i was able to sit in and watch another cognitive evaluation for the study Dr. Burns is doing (how does physical fitness affect the development of AD). Ms. Phyllis Switzer was the one who administered the test. This afternoon Dr. Burns is speakilng to all of the SEPA participants during lunch, i think it is going to be over the research he is doing. That is a brief summary of my week and i will keep updating until the camp is over.

The First Day

Hello fellow SEPA(ians),

Today i began my quest as a GCRC official intern. the reason i say quest is because at one point in time i felt like i was actually on one. we began the morning by going to find our mentoring doctors. due to a miscommunication with Dr. Griener's department 5 of us interns went on a march today throughout the campus trying to find where he relocated his office. after everyone else found their doctor i was escorted to my doctor's, Dr. Jeff Burns, office. unfortunately he was out of town, however i did get to sit in on a memory and brain exam being administered by Dr. David. afterwards i once again went on a hike, up a huge hill to get to the cafeteria. besides the long strolls i enjoyed what i was able to do and see today and look forward to working with Dr. Burns on monday!!!!
