Family Seminar Series

This seminar series is developed and implemented by KU Medical Center and Kansas City, Kansas Community College faculty to provide instruction to students, teachers and families in life science literacy. These seminars are intended to engage and inform the participants, to increase their knowledge about the basis of disease, and to show them how pathology directs disease treatment and management decisions. Moreover, information is provided on the meaning and importance of clinical and translational research, the processes employed, and the importance of the community participating in such research. In Year One, the series is called Family Genetics Night and DNA associated diseases and disorders are explored.
